The Melbourne Renegades have secured New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert for a two-year contract as a pre-draft signing for the BBL.
Seifert will be fully available for both seasons with the Renegades. However, this commitment will cause him to miss at least part of the Super Smash, New Zealand’s domestic T20 competition.
Recently, Seifert declined a domestic contract with Northern Districts to pursue freelance T20 opportunities. He has represented New Zealand in three ODIs and 61 T20Is and has participated in various T20 leagues globally.
Notably, he was the top run-scorer in the recent Lanka Premier League, amassing 400 runs at an average of 57.14 and a strike rate of 135.13.
This signing is a significant boost for the Renegades, bringing in a player with extensive international experience and proven success in T20 cricket. Fans can look forward to seeing Seifert’s impact on the team in the upcoming BBL seasons.
