The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday unveiled its plans for the Men’s Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25. This season will feature 261 matches across eight senior men’s tournaments from September 1, 2024, to August 5, 2025.
Around 150 of the top-performing domestic players from the past three years, along with centrally contracted players, will be eligible for these tournaments.
The PCB also announced an upgrade in domestic contracts, offering enhanced salaries to 150 cricketers:
- Category 1: 40 players will receive PKR 550,000 per month.
- Category 2: 50 players will get PKR 400,000 per month.
- Category 3: 60 players will earn PKR 250,000 per month.
For comparison, in the 2023-24 season, domestic contracts ranged from PKR 50,000 to PKR 300,000, depending on the category.
Additionally, players will benefit from increased match fees:
- PKR 200,000 for red-ball cricket
- PKR 125,000 for 50-over games
- PKR 100,000 for T20 matches
This marks a significant rise from the previous season’s match fees of PKR 80,000 for red-ball and PKR 40,000 for white-ball cricket.
The upgraded contracts and increased match fees reflect the PCB’s commitment to supporting and rewarding domestic players, ensuring they are well-compensated for their performances and contributions to Pakistan cricket.
